Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Casunuran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Waterson!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casunuran tries to clinch but Waterson is having none of it.
Casunuran scores with a hook.
Waterson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Waterson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Casunuran defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Waterson.
Waterson shoots in looking for a takedown. Casunuran tries to sprawl out of it but Waterson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Casunuran manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Waterson avoids the head kick by Casunuran.
Casunuran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Casunuran tries to clinch up.
Casunuran throws a left and a right that both miss
and Waterson counters with a straight right hand.
Casunuran throws a nice looking combination but Waterson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Waterson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Michael Casunuran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Waterson closes the distance and pushes Casunuran back into the cage.
Casunuran jumps guard but Waterson stands there with Casunuran around his waist. Casunuran gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Casunuran tries to pull guard but Waterson holds him up against the cage and eventually Casunuran drops back down to his feet.

Waterson pulls guard effortlessly.

Waterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Waterson, not yet.

Waterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Waterson trying to control the position.
Casunuran stops Waterson from standing up.
Casunuran throwing strikes from guard but Waterson blocks nicely.
Waterson wants to stand and escape but Casunuran is having none of it.
Waterson trying to keep a closed guard but Casunuran is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Casunuran missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Casunuran fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Casunuran misses with a double jab

and Waterson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Waterson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Casunuran prevents the takedown attempt.
Michael Casunuran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Waterson.
Casunuran tries to break the clinch but Waterson is controlling the position.
Casunuran blocks an elbow strike from Waterson.

Waterson tightens his grip and picks Casunuran up, before dumping him to the ground. Casunuran manages to land in guard.
Casunuran wants to stand but Waterson is controlling the position.

Waterson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Waterson throws a body kick that misses.

Waterson forces Casunuran back against the cage and clinches.
Casunuran works on Waterson's body with a couple of short punches.

Waterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A combination from Casunuran does no damage.
Casunuran takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Waterson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Waterson dives in for a single leg takedown but Casunuran sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Waterson cracks Casunuran with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Waterson has a takedown stuffed.
Waterson throws a wild body kick that Casunuran sees coming a mile off.
Waterson fails to land the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Casunuran fails to land with a series of punches.
Casunuran misses with the combination.
Waterson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Waterson keeps the fight on the outside.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Casunuran is defended easily by Waterson.
Casunuran is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Waterson.
A punch combination from Casunuran misses.
Casunuran throws a nice looking combination but Waterson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Waterson shoots in for a takedown but Casunuran shows good takedown defense.
Casunuran scores with a three punch combo!
Casunuran moves to clinch but Waterson breaks away
and Waterson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Casunuran will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Casunuran throws the kick towards the body but Waterson avoids it.
Despite the aggression on Waterson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Casunuran walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Waterson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Casunuran misses with a jab to the body
and Waterson counters with a three punch combo that has Casunuran backing up. Casunuran nods at Waterson to acknowledge the strikes.
Casunuran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Casunuran is defended easily by Waterson.
Waterson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Waterson shoots in for a takedown but Casunuran shows good takedown defense.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Casunuran moves in looking to clinch but Waterson pushes him off.

Michael Casunuran is winning the standup battle so far.

Casunuran stuffs the takedown attempt from Waterson. Waterson gets slowly back to his feet.
Casunuran walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


Casunuran is rocked!

Waterson moves into the clinch successfully.
Oh Casunuran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Waterson wants to take the fight to the mat but Casunuran manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Waterson is working for takedown but Casunuran is calmly controlling the position for now.

Waterson manages to break the clinch.

Waterson shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Waterson slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Waterson lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). George Waterson!
