Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Urban Ursson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesper Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Urban Ursson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Urban Ursson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jesper Eriksson!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ursson throws a head kick that misses.
Eriksson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ursson manages to avoid it.

Eriksson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ursson seems a little lost for a moment, as Eriksson dominates the positioning.
Ursson pushes Eriksson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Eriksson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ursson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Eriksson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Eriksson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ursson is looking to counter with head kicks.
We've been told by Ursson's head coaches at Foot Loves that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Eriksson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ursson throws a head kick but Eriksson moves out of range.
Eriksson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Eriksson moves into the clinch successfully.
Ursson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ursson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ursson enables Eriksson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ursson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Eriksson drops back looking for a leg! Ursson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ursson manages to kick Eriksson off! Eriksson jumps back into Ursson's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Eriksson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ursson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Eriksson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Eriksson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ursson throws a head kick that half lands.
Ursson throws a head kick but Eriksson moves out of range.

Ursson gets caught flat footed, as Eriksson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Eriksson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ursson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Eriksson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Eriksson stands up out of the half guard.
Ursson throws a nice head kick!
Ursson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Eriksson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ursson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Eriksson is in Ursson's guard.
Eriksson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Eriksson postures up in Ursson's guard and throws a big left but Ursson blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Eriksson lands a couple of elbows.
Eriksson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Eriksson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Eriksson avoids the head kick by Ursson.
Eriksson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ursson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ursson tries to keep at a distance but Eriksson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Eriksson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ursson throws a head kick that misses.
Ursson throws a sloppy head kick
and Eriksson counters with a three punch combo that has Ursson backing up. Ursson nods at Eriksson to acknowledge the strikes.


It looks like Urban Ursson has been cut.

Eriksson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Eriksson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Eriksson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ursson, up you get!

Eriksson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Eriksson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Eriksson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ursson was covering up waiting for the punch and Eriksson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesper Eriksson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Ursson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Eriksson throws a body punch but Ursson moves out of range.

Eriksson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Urban Ursson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Eriksson closes the distance and clinches.

Eriksson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eriksson avoids the head kick by Ursson.
Ursson throws a sloppy head kick and Eriksson moves out of range easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ursson doesn't manage to clinch there - Eriksson circles away.
Eriksson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Eriksson shoots in and bounces Ursson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Eriksson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Eriksson stays in close to Ursson's body and controls the position.
Ursson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eriksson on the ground.
Let's hope that Eriksson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ursson has momentary wrist control but Eriksson slips an elbow through the middle.
Ursson is wriggling around but Eriksson manages to pass to half guard.
