Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Raju Armo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armo scores with a decent looking hook.
Penner shoots in for a takedown but Armo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Penner shoots for a takedown but Armo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Penner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Armo trying to control the position from guard on top but Penner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Penner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Armo defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Armo pushing down on Penner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Penner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Armo on the ground.
Penner tries to roll over but Armo keeps him under control.
Armo passes to full mount!

Penner is trying to reverse the position but instead Armo has taken his back - oops!

Armo is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Penner knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Penner for a finish.
Penner staying busy and making it hard for Armo to control.

Armo is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Penner has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Armo has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Penner taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Armo doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Raju Armo!
Raju Armo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
