Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddy Edwards!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Mason both land. Nice combination.
Edwards thows a leg kick but Mason checks it
and Mason counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
A low kick from Edwards misses
and Mason counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch but Edwards swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mason misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Edwards looks to score with a jab to the body but Mason is just out of range.

Edwards closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mason's guard.
Edwards is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Edwards is in close to Mason's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Edwards slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mason is trying to control Edwards's posture but Edwards avoids it.
Mason is looking to reverse the position.

Edwards content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Edwards lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mason down.

Edwards has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mason seems to have got his legs back now.
Edwards takes a little break here. Mason wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Edwards scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mason to see if he's OK.

Mason pushes Edwards away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Edwards gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Edwards scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mason is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Edwards can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
