The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreira lands a head kick. McAlister smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Moreira keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Moreira takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

McAlister has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Moreira slips under a jab from McAlister.
Moreira pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moreira on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and McAlister counters with an outside leg kick.
Moreira drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Moreira takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McAlister connects with a single shot there.
McAlister throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Moreira sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McAlister dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McAlister misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Moreira.
Moreira moves into the clinch.
McAlister is trying to pull guard but Moreira turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moreira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McAlister lands a nice looking body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
McAlister throws a lazy right hand but Moreira sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Moreira drops his hands momentarily and McAlister takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Moreira throws a sloppy head kick
letting McAlister counter with a right hand.
McAlister wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McAlister paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Moreira is rocked!
McAlister lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Moreira head around and knocks him out cold! McAlister hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Duncan McAlister!
An out of breath Duncan McAlister thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Daniel Vieira Moreira was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm done!'.
