Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Miranda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marcelo Miranda was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Johnson.
Johnson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Johnson scores with a one two! Miranda had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Miranda shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Miranda closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Miranda pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Johnson shoots in but Miranda avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Miranda tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Johnson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Miranda eats them both and turns towards Johnson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Miranda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miranda on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Miranda counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Johnson!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miranda has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Johnson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Miranda yanks on the arm and Johnson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Miranda .
