Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Hunter has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hall is trying to control Hunter's posture but Hunter avoids it.
Hall is looking to reverse the position.
Hall is working hard here to advance position.
Hall manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Hunter is working for a submission of some sort.
Hall is trying to stand up here but Hunter is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hall!

Hall wants to hold on but Hunter pushes him away.
Hall is looking to improve his position but Hunter isn't that keen on the idea.
Hall wants to control but Hunter is having none of it.

Hall is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hunter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunter has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Hall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hunter defends it nicely.
Hunter with the counter takedown but Hall avoids it easily.
Hunter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hall is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hall is trying to work for a kimura but Hunter is defending well.

Hall is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Hunter to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hall somewhat.
Hall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hunter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee warns Hunter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hall takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hunter is looking to escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Poor strikes thrown by Hall there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Hall looking to control but Hunter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Hall has hold of Hunter's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hunter manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hunter wants to hold on but Hall pushes him away.

Hunter shoots in looking for a takedown but Hall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hunter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hunter fails with a takedown attempt.
Hall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hunter swivels and escapes.
Hunter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hall pinned against the cage. Hall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Matt Hall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Hunter.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hall is defended easily by Hunter.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hall sprawls well. Hall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hunter gets slowly back to his feet.

Hall defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hunter.
Hall changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Matt Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hunter enables Hall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hunter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hunter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hall wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hall is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hunter has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hunter shoots in but Hall avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hunter blocks a jab.
Hall slaps away a takedown attempt from Hunter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hunter.
Hall is looking to counter with a body kick.
Matt Hall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Hunter.
Hall misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hunter tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown but Hall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Hall was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Hall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hunter shoots for a double leg takedown but Hall sprawls well. He's pushed Hunter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Joe Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hunter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hall was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunter finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hall has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hunter off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Hunter shoots for a double leg takedown but Hall sprawls well. He's pushed Hunter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hall wants it to stay on the feet.

Hall slaps away a takedown attempt from Hunter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hunter looks for a takedown but Hall sprawls well.
Hall seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Hunter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hall as he jumps to the side.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hall.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hall is trying to get an arm triangle but Hunter is defending well.
Hall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunter keeps working.
Hunter on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Hall decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hunter to his feet.
Hall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hunter defends well and Hall ends up having to push Hunter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hunter dives in and scores a takedown into Hall's guard.
Hall is trying to keep Hunter in close.

Hall looking for a guillotine here but Hunter defends easily.

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hall is looking for a triangle but Hunter pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matt Hall showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
