Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raivo Hevi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Chong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Raivo Hevi!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hevi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hevi shoots for a takedown but Chong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hevi is looking to clinch but Chong is avoiding it.
Hevi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ben Chong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raivo Hevi.

Chong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hevi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hevi is looking to stand up but Chong isn't so interested in that idea.
Chong passes into half guard.
Hevi is not content to let Chong control the position.
Chong seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Chong seems to be working for a kimura but Hevi defends the submission attempt.
Hevi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hevi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hevi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chong is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hevi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chong's back instead.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Chong looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Hevi is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Chong has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Hevi has the hooks in. Chong is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Hevi tries to get the hooks in deep but Chong pushed the leg off.

Hevi is looking for the choke from the back position but Chong is controlling his hands well.
Will Hevi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Hevi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Chong has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Chong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hevi on the ground.

Hevi looking to break Chong's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Chong remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hevi will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hevi has a closed guard, preventing Chong from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Chong drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chong stays in close to Hevi's body and controls the position.
Chong landing with the ground and pound.
Chong wants to stand but Hevi is controlling his posture from full guard.
Chong trying to control the position from guard on top but Hevi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Chong dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Hevi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hevi lands in his opponent's guard.

Chong is working an open guard so Hevi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Chong walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hevi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Hevi is looking to stand up but Chong isn't so interested in that idea.
Chong slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Chong wants to control from the top but Hevi keeps moving.
Chong postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hevi shoots and misses

and Chong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hevi won't be happy with that.

Chong looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hevi is not content to let Chong control the position.
Chong cracks Hevi with a big right hand but Hevi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Chong working away.

Chong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hevi, who protects the arm well.
Hevi is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Chong has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Chong lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hevi down.
Hevi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chong misses with a wild body shot.

Chong shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chong showed some decent athleticism there.
Chong tries to stand and escape but Hevi is controlling the position.
Chong prevents Hevi from standing back up.
Chong looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Chong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Chong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hevi keeps working.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hevi moves into range and clinches up with Chong.
Chong tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hevi wants to get back to striking at distance but Chong won't allow it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Chong drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hevi parries the strikes from Chong easily there. Chong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hevi to escape.
Hevi wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Chong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hevi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hevi sneaks back into half guard.
Hevi is trying to maintain the position but Chong is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hevi is trying to stand.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Chong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
