Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Calypso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimon Boets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calypso comes to the cage accompanied by Jedi Mind Tricks - Genghis Khan . The crowd seem to be enjoying Boets's choice of entrance music: Штиль. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 26 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimon Boets!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calypso slips a jab and a cross from Boets.
Boets throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Calypso sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Calypso wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Calypso thuds his right hand into Boets's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sloppy strikes from Boets. Those never looked like landing.
Calypso changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Boets lands a glancing blow to the side of Calypso's head.
Boets thows a left - swing and a miss!
Calypso thinks about countering with a body kick.
Calypso darts in looking for a takedown but Boets gets double underhooks and turns Calypso into the cage.
Boets throws a hook but Calypso blocks it.
Boets feints a jab promting Calypso to slip. Boets then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Calypso slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

We've been hearing reports that Calypso has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Boets is not content to let Calypso control the position.
Calypso is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boets is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Calypso seems to be working for a kimura but Boets defends the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Calypso wants to control but Boets is keeping him busy.
Calypso throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Calypso wants to free his trapped foot but Boets is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Calypso is thwarting Boets's attempts to control the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boets lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Calypso circles away quickly and effectively.
Calypso closes the distance and clinches up with Boets, looking for a takedown. Calypso pushes Boets against the cage but Boets circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boets uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dimon Boets seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Calypso counters with a shoot takedown. Boets fights it but they end up in guard.
Calypso throws an elbow that misses. Boets uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Calypso's guard. Nice move by Boets!

Boets wants to stand and escape but instead Calypso has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Boets is doing well to control the position and prevent Calypso from advancing to side control.

Boets is squirming around, avoiding Calypso's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boets is looking to improve his position but Calypso isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Calypso lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Boets! Calypso sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Boets and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
