Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bear Trapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darren Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bear Trapp!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trapp scores with a shot to the body.
A nice combination there by Trapp.
Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Trapp's waist but Trapp gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
Trapp scores with a jab.
Trapp scores with a hook to the body. Brown takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Trapp moves away.
Trapp scores with a jab. Brown acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Trapp's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Trapp duly obliges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Trapp scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Trapp keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Trapp now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trapp swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Trapp avoids it really well and circles away.
Trapp is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Trapp has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Trapp tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trapp manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Trapp wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but Trapp shows good takedown defense.

Trapp jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Trapp clobbers Brown with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Trapp scores with a hook to the body. Brown takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Trapp stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
Trapp fails with an attempt to clinch.
Trapp scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Trapp dips to his left and cracks Brown with an uppercut!
Trapp tries to close the distance and clinch but Brown swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Brown closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trapp to the mat! Trapp manages to get full guard.
We've been hearing that Brown has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Trapp is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.

Trapp manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brown manages to get himself to full guard.

Trapp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Trapp slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Trapp got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trapp has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bear Trapp dominated that round.

Brown closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trapp quickly recovers to half guard.
Trapp felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Trapp tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.
Brown wants to pass to mount but Trapp is defending the position.
Trapp tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg.
Trapp makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trapp.
Brown throwing strikes but missing.
Brown is looking to pass into half guard but Trapp pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Trapp is in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trapp pushes down on Brown's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Brown wants to improve his position but Trapp is controlling well.

It looks like Trapp is going to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brown is looking to control Trapp's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brown avoid being mounted?
Trapp is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Brown!
Brown is desperately trying to improve his position but Trapp has a good base and remains in mount.
Trapp tries to stand up but Brown had a hold of his arm and he's managed to perform a nice reversal, into half guard.
Brown lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Trapp sees it coming and defends easily.
Brown passes into side control, despite Trapp's attempt to control the position.

Trapp managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brown.

Trapp tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.
Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Trapp is trying to control Brown's posture but Brown avoids it.

Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trapp has escaped the position, nice work there.

Trapp is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brown moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Brown dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Trapp tries to close the distance and clinch but Brown swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Trapp comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Trapp forces Brown back against the cage and clinches.
Brown tries to pull guard but Trapp holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Trapp lands a knee to the body.

Brown has picked Trapp up - he's going for a ride! Brown dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Trapp is trying to get back to full guard.
Trapp keeping control of the position.

Brown maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Trapp could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Brown has cracked it and Trapp is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Brown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Darren Brown!
After winning the bout, Darren Brown thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
