PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dallas Rockhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dallas Rockhart!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cabrera is defended easily by Rockhart.
Rockhart throws the kick towards the body but Cabrera avoids it.
Rockhart moves in looking to clinch but Cabrera pushes him off.
Cabrera avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cabrera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cabrera showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rockhart.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rockhart looking to score a takedown here. Cabrera is defending well but Rockhart drives through and ends up in Cabrera's guard.
Cabrera keeping moving, preventing Rockhart from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rockhart postures up.

Cabrera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Cabrera wants to get back to his feet but Rockhart is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rockhart stands and steps away. Cabrera gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rockhart tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cabrera counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Rockhart closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cabrera's guard.
Cabrera wants to stand and escape but Rockhart is having none of it.
Cabrera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cabrera has his feet on Rockhart's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Cabrera blocks a leg kick.
Rockhart lands with a nice body punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rockhart drives through with a takedown into Cabrera's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Rockhart decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rockhart pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Cabrera is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rockhart is looking to stand up but Cabrera won't let him.
Cabrera wants to stand up but Rockhart is controlling him.
Rockhart seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rockhart stops Cabrera from standing up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rockhart wants to clinch up but Cabrera keeps it at a distance.
Rockhart misses with a looping right.
Cabrera seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Cabrera gets caught flat footed, as Rockhart shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rockhart won't allow Cabrera to get back to his feet.
Cabrera can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rockhart controls the pace.
Cabrera wants to stand up but Rockhart is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cabrera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Cabrera wants to stand but Rockhart is controlling the position.

Cabrera has his feet on Rockhart's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Cabrera is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rockhart sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Rockhart scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rockhart is taking a breather. Cabrera says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cabrera is looking to escape.
Rockhart sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cabrera defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dallas Rockhart dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rockhart tries to clinch there but Cabrera circles away.
Rockhart pounces like a tiger and cracks Cabrera with a vicious hook! Cabrera is down but not out! Rockhart follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dallas Rockhart!
