With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jorge The Axe!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels with a nice cross.

The Axe works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The Axe trying to control but Michaels is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Axe is fighting to break Michaels's control of his arms but Michaels is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Michaels knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Axe on the ground.

The Axe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The Axe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Michaels is staying active underneath The Axe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The Axe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The Axe trying to control the position from guard on top but Michaels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Michaels utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The Axe has gone for a leg lock! Michaels slips out almost immediately though and dives into The Axe's guard.

Michaels cracks The Axe with a solid left hand.
The Axe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Michaels is fighting to break The Axe's control of his arms but The Axe is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The Axe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The Axe is trying to control. Michaels wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Michaels is looking for a sweep. The Axe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The Axe throwing shots but Michaels is blocking nicely.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jorge The Axe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The Axe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Michaels was covering up waiting for the punch and The Axe finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The Axe moves away from the strike by Michaels.
Michaels looks to throw the jab but The Axe is out of range.
Michaels just misses with a punch to the body.
Michaels lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Michaels throws a nice looking combination but The Axe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and The Axe counters with a right hand to the body.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The Axe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Michaels has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sloppy strikes there by The Axe.
The Axe is looking to take a break and control but Michaels is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Michaels is looking for a sweep.

The Axe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Michaels knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The Axe is trying to get an arm triangle but Michaels is defending well.
The Axe throws a strike aimed at the side of Michaels's head but Michaels avoids it well.
