Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Octavius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaius Octavius has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavius fails with an attempt to clinch.
Barry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Octavius tries to avoid it but Barry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Octavius to the ground. Octavius escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Octavius stalks Barry and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barry 's face. Barry staggers backwards, shaken.
Barry throws a head kick that Octavius semi-blocks.
Barry shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Octavius looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Barry blocking the ground and pound attempt from Octavius .
Octavius is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Octavius is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Octavius . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barry wants to control but Octavius is keeping busy.

Barry has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Octavius is working away from the top position though.
Octavius is looking for a kimura but Barry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Octavius to get the leverage.
Barry is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Octavius scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've been hearing that Octavius has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Barry jumps guard but Octavius stands there with Barry around his waist. Barry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Octavius is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Barry pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Octavius is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Barry can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Octavius dives in for a single leg takedown but Barry sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A countering left hand to the body from Barry misses.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barry 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Barry goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Octavius throws a right and a left that Barry avoids nicely.
Barry pushes Octavius up against the cage in a clinch.
Barry is pressed up against the cage. Octavius has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Barry down to the mat. Barry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Barry scores with a push kick.
Nice uppercut there from Barry .
Barry tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Octavius has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Barry .
Barry throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Octavius was covering up waiting for the punch and Barry finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Octavius swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Octavius has his foot on Barry 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barry works his way back into a safe position though.

Octavius escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Barry is posturing up here but Octavius has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Barry tries to roll out but it's too tight and Barry has to tap! Slick submission there by Octavius !
