Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Declan Duddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakari Nurmi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nurmi has chosen Turisas -Take the day! as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sakari Nurmi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Duddy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nurmi.
Duddy throws a body kick that misses.
Nurmi only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Nurmi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duddy manages to avoid it.
Duddy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Sakari Nurmi has been cut.
Nurmi throws a head kick but Duddy moves out of range.
Nurmi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Duddy swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Nurmi counters with a straight right hand.
Duddy works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Nurmi is looking to clinch but Duddy is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duddy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duddy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Nurmi slips a straight right by Duddy.
Duddy connects with a leg kick. Nurmi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Nurmi jabs Duddy right on the nose. Duddy blinks but takes it well.
Nurmi throws a nice outside leg kick.

Duddy swings for the body but Nurmi moves out of range.

Duddy moves into range and connects with a jab.
A slow jab from Duddy misses its intended target.
Duddy sets himself, and Nurmi steps forward looking for the clinch! Duddy avoids it this time.

Nurmi blocks a low kick nicely.
Duddy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Oooh a lovely combination from Duddy sends Nurmi down but not out. Duddy dives into side control looking to finish.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nurmi wants to control but Duddy postures up.
Duddy tries to stand but Nurmi is controlling his head.

Duddy goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nurmi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Duddy but great work by Nurmi.

Duddy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nurmi has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Duddy stops Nurmi from passing to mount.
Duddy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nurmi.

Nurmi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duddy is looking for a sweep.

Nurmi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Duddy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Duddy sneaks back into half guard.

Nurmi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nurmi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Duddy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nurmi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nurmi's back!
Duddy is hanging on to Nurmi's back as he tries to escape.
Duddy tries to get the hooks in deep but Nurmi pushed the leg off.

Duddy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Nurmi has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Duddy misses with a two punch combination.
Duddy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nurmi. Duddy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Duddy throws a right and a left that Nurmi avoids nicely.
Nurmi tries to counter by closing the distance.

and Nurmi counters with a stiff right hand.
Duddy misses the shot to the body.
As Duddy backs off Nurmi throws a huge counter combo but Duddy manages to avoid it all.
Duddy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nurmi can do to turn this around?

Duddy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

That has opened up Sakari Nurmi's cut even more.
Duddy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Nurmi forces Duddy back against the cage and clinches.
Duddy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nurmi has him pressed against the cage.
Duddy wants to break the clinch but can't.

Nurmi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nurmi swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Nurmi tries to clinch but Duddy is having none of it.
A nice combination there by Duddy.
Duddy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duddy lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Nurmi can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Duddy and Nurmi drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Duddy.

A relieved looking Declan Duddy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
