The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kearney works over Patterson's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Derek Patterson has been cut.
Kearney with a nice cross.
Kearney keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kearney lands with a hook. Patterson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
We've been told by Kearney's head coaches at Ground Zero, Las Vegas (LOD) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kearney throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Patterson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Patterson is rocked!
Patterson switches off momentarily and Kearney cracks him with a monster right hand! Patterson topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Kearney dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Kearney!
