Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Massimo Paterno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison comes to the cage accompanied by Mystery Plane. Massimo Paterno has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Paterno manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Paterno feints the counter takedown.
Paterno shoots in but Morrison avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Morrison slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Morrison pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Paterno has his takedown stuffed
and Morrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Paterno fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Grant Morrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Massimo Paterno.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paterno misses with a takedown attempt - Morrison sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Paterno dives in and grabs Morrison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morrison pushes down on Paterno's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Paterno or perhaps it was just good defense by Morrison, which made it look bad.

Morrison scores with a hook to the body. Paterno takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Grant Morrison is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Paterno shoots for a takedown but Morrison saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Paterno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morrison was covering up waiting for the punch and Paterno finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Morrison utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Paterno has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Morrison has his hands on Paterno's head, controlling the position.

Paterno wants to pass the guard but Morrison is keeping the position.
Morrison keeping moving, preventing Paterno from controlling successfully.
Paterno is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Paterno trying to control the position from guard on top but Morrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Paterno tries to free his leg and advance position but Morrison is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Paterno looking to sit in guard and control but Morrison gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paterno is looking for a triangle here but Morrison uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Paterno is trying to work for a sweep but Morrison has mounted him!

Paterno wants to hold on but Morrison pushes him away.

Paterno tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Morrison defends well and Paterno ends up having to push Morrison into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Paterno looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Paterno keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Paterno shoots for a double leg takedown but Morrison sprawls well. He's pushed Paterno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Morrison misses the target.
Paterno takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Morrison rushes Paterno and presses him up against the cage.

Paterno breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Paterno closes this distance looking for a takedown but Morrison circles away.
Morrison swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

A looping hook to the body misses from Morrison. Paterno does a little dance to reset his feet.

It looked like Morrison was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Paterno.

Paterno is breathing heavily.

Morrison sends Paterno crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Morrison is motioning to the referee to let Paterno up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Paterno is rocked!
Morrison ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Paterno out cold! The fight is over!

In his post fight interview, Grant Morrison started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
