The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Newstead misses its intended target.
Newstead bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Quar Fang has been cut.
Newstead throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
It looked like Fang was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Newstead has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fang fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Newstead has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fang tries to score with a low kick but Newstead moves his leg out of the way.
Newstead lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
The fighters circling - Newstead throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
An attempted straight right counter from Fang misses the target.
Fang throws a right hand that Newstead ducks under and follows up with a left that Newstead also avoids with ease.
Newstead misses with the combination.
Newstead on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Newstead checks a leg kick nicely.
Fang buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Newstead misses with a lunging right hand
and Fang cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jason Newstead has been cut.

Fang lands a big uppercut and Newstead crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Newstead looks OK. Fang waves Newstead back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fang cracks Newstead with a hook to the temple - Newstead is on wobbly legs here! Fang swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Newstead falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Fang wins by TKO!
