Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbert Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Dogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elbert Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Dogg!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dogg drives through with a takedown into guard.
Robbins is controlling Dogg's posture.
Dogg looking to pass the guard.
Dogg controlling from the top position.
Dogg must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robbins tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Dogg dives in and scores a takedown into Robbins's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dogg is on top in guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Robbins tries to clinch up but Dogg circles away and keeps his distance.
Dogg throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Robbins on the side of the head.
Sloppy strikes from Robbins. Those never looked like landing.

Robbins feints and as Dogg raises his hands in defense, Robbins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Robbins postures up in Dogg's guard and throws a big left but Dogg blocks it.

Dogg is looking for a triangle but Robbins pushes his legs off easily.
Robbins working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Robbins tries to free his leg and advance position but Dogg is retaining full guard.
Dogg looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Robbins distracts Dogg with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Robbins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dogg wants to stand and escape but Robbins is having none of it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Robbins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dogg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Robbins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Robbins connects with a couple of short punches.
Robbins won't allow Dogg to get back to his feet.
Dogg is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Robbins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Robbins wants to control from the top but Dogg keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dogg clinches up against the cage.
Dogg looking to slow down the pace here.
Robbins tries to pull guard but Dogg holds him up against the cage and eventually Robbins drops back down to his feet.

Dogg escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dogg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dogg closes the distance and pushes Robbins back into the cage.

Dogg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dogg throws a head kick that Robbins semi-blocks.

Dogg moves into range and clinches up with Robbins.

Robbins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dogg throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Robbins.
Dogg keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dogg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dogg is breathing heavily.
Dogg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robbins keeps working.
Robbins manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Robbins is concentrating on defense, preventing Dogg from advancing position.

Robbins is trying to get back to full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Robbins regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dogg wants to stand but Robbins is controlling his posture from full guard.
Robbins wants to sweep here but Dogg controlling him for the moment.

Jay Dogg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dogg circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dogg throws out a leg kick but Robbins moves out of range and Dogg only half commits.
Dogg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Robbins moves away.
Dogg fails to land with a series of punches.
Dogg throws a head kick that Robbins semi-blocks.
Dogg tries to bum rush Robbins with a series of wild strikes but Robbins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Robbins attempts a counter takedown but Dogg avoids it well and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dogg misses with the combination.
No joy there for Dogg, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Robbins tries to counter with a takedown but Dogg is quick to defend against it.
Robbins has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dogg.

Robbins moves into the clinch.

Dogg ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dogg no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dogg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Robbins sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dogg. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Dogg looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dogg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

and Dogg counters with a left and a right that stings Robbins.
Dogg stalks Robbins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Robbins's face. Robbins staggers backwards, shaken.

Dogg keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Robbins misses with a head kick.

Robbins has Dogg up against the cage in a clinch.
Dogg keeps control of Robbins as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dogg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dogg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Robbins is trying to work for a kimura but Dogg is defending well.
Robbins takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Dogg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Robbins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jay Dogg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dogg has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
