The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhandunka defending well as Melo loads up on a big left hand.
Zhandunka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Melo lands with a thumping leg kick.
Melo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zhandunka jabs Melo to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Melo throws a combination that misses
and Zhandunka counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Felipe Melo has been cut.
Zhandunka scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Melo throws a body shot but no joy.
It seemed like Zhandunka was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Melo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zhandunka throws a good cross that connects.
Melo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Zhandunka takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Melo is breathing heavily.
Zhandunka scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Zhandunka jabs Melo right on the nose. Melo blinks but takes it well.
Zhandunka is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Melo misses with an uppercut
and Zhandunka counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Melo throws a wild hook but Zhandunka just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Melo gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Zhandunka raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ales Zhandunka!
Ales Zhandunka decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
