Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gottlieb Hiebknecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Peter Parker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gottlieb Hiebknecht!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiebknecht uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Parker.
Gottlieb Hiebknecht seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hiebknecht thuds a left hand into Parker's body.
Hiebknecht jabs Parker to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hiebknecht scores with a one two! Parker had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Parker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Parker with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hiebknecht counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hiebknecht swings for the body but Parker moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Hiebknecht.
Hiebknecht scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Parker doesn't seem bothered though.
Hiebknecht lands a right hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hiebknecht is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hiebknecht wants to take a breather but Parker is having none of it.

Parker wants to sweep but no luck.
Parker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hiebknecht's guard.

Hiebknecht avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Parker with a flurry of punches that miss.
Parker looking to sit in guard and control but Hiebknecht gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Parker tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hiebknecht got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hiebknecht has managed to get both his arms back between Parker's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hiebknecht must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Parker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A close round but Gottlieb Hiebknecht will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hiebknecht fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Parker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Parker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hiebknecht to score with a decent uppercut.

Hiebknecht has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Parker looks to score with a jab to the body but Hiebknecht is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiebknecht connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Parker's hands.
Hiebknecht goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Parker takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hiebknecht uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Parker has time to react.
Nice straight punches there by Hiebknecht. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hiebknecht.

Peter Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hiebknecht has momentary wrist control but Parker slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hiebknecht cracks Parker with a good jab.
Parker tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hiebknecht is able to avoid easily.
Hiebknecht looks to land a combination but Parker avoids it well.

and Parker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hiebknecht's guard.

Gottlieb Hiebknecht showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Parker looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

and Hiebknecht makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Parker is rocked!
Hiebknecht throws out a powerful jab.
Oh Parker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Parker throws out a loose jab but Hiebknecht uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nice body punch from Hiebknecht.
Parker takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hiebknecht darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hiebknecht throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Parker's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Hiebknecht dives in looking to finish as Parker flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Hiebknecht's strikes! Hiebknecht is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Parker's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Parker was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gottlieb Hiebknecht!

Gottlieb Hiebknecht seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Peter Parker spoke after the fight, saying 'That fuckin' hurt!'.
