The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Cullen.

It looks like Quintavious Johnson has been cut.
Johnson takes a swing at Cullen's ribcage but misses.
Cullen connects with a body shot.
Cullen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Johnson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As Johnson backs off Cullen throws a huge counter combo but Johnson manages to avoid it all.

It looks like Kaely Cullen has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cullen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cullen scores with a hook.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cullen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A right-left combo lands from Johnson.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cullens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Johnson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cullen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cullen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Johnson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cullen eats them both and turns towards Johnson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cullen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johnson did well to prevent Cullen getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cullen scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Cullen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cullen.
Johnson won't allow Cullen to sweep him here.

Cullen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Johnson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cullen escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
