Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Traxler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Traxler has chosen Slam - Onyx as his entrance music. Doug Gomez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Traxler walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gomez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Lance Traxler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Traxler pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gomez is trying to force a seperation but Traxler has the dominant position.

Traxler gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Traxler controlling from the top position.
Gomez is trying to control the position but Traxler postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Traxler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gomez is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Traxler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Traxler decides to stand up.

Oooooh!!! Traxler has knocked Gomez down with a huge combo! Traxler steps away and waves a wobbly Gomez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Doug Gomez's cut is getting worse.

Traxler moves into the clinch.

Traxler lands a takedown into guard.

Traxler gets to his feet. Gomez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Traxler gets the takedown into side control.

Gomez is rocked!

Traxler looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Oh Gomez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Traxler is working to tighten his grip on Gomez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gomez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Traxler is really squeezing tight and eventually Gomez passes out! Traxler breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Lance Traxler started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
