The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raiser walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Raiser slips a jab and a cross from Panini.

Raiser drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Raiser stays in close to Panini's body and controls the position.
Raiser wants to pass the guard but Panini is keeping the position.
Raiser stops Panini from standing up.

Panini has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Raiser can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Panini is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Raiser trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Raiser controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Raiser is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Panini is looking to stand up but Raiser isn't so interested in that idea.
Panini is breathing heavily.
Raiser wants to control from the top but Panini keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Raiser is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Panini really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Raiser throwing strikes from guard but Panini blocks nicely.
Raiser trying to control the position from guard on top but Panini is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Raiser throws a strike but Panini rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Panini won't allow Raiser to get back to his feet.

Raiser manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Panini manages to get himself to full guard.

Raiser looking to improve position, pressing down on Panini's thigh with his hand. Panini seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Raiser paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Raiser's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Panini picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
