Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Octavius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Underdog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Underdog is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavius tries to clinch but Underdog is having none of it.
A bone on bone clash there as Octavius blocks the leg kick.
A left and a right from Octavius both land. Nice combination.
Octavius throws a one two combo.
Octavius fails to land with a series of punches.
Underdog wants to counter with a clinch but Octavius pushes him away.
Underdog misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

We've been told by Octavius 's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Octavius is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Underdog is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Underdog has escaped and now he's on top!

Underdog stops Octavius from standing up.

Underdog got a little sloppy there for a moment and Octavius has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Underdog has managed to get both his arms back between Octavius 's legs - danger averted.

Octavius drops back, looking for a kneebar! Underdog looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Underdog looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Underdog!

Underdog is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Octavius has escaped the position, nice work there.

Underdog decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Gaius Octavius will probably get the nod.

I really don't envy Octavius right now.
Octavius is trying to get back to his feet but Underdog has full control of the position and if anything, Octavius has just worked his way into a worse spot.
