Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien OQuinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Toushikama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think OQuinn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to King Gordy - Damian. Toushikama is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by One Love-Yoshihiro Akiyama. Damien OQuinn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toushikama shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. OQuinn defends it nicely.
OQuinn is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Toushikama shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says OQuinn as he avoids it easily.

Toushikama is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toushikama is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down OQuinn's shoulder. That is not cool.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Toushikama is looking to take a break and control but OQuinn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Toushikama darts in looking for a takedown but OQuinn gets double underhooks and turns Toushikama into the cage.
Damien OQuinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Toushikama .
Toushikama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but OQuinn swivels and escapes.
Toushikama goes for a double leg but OQuinn avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as OQuinn continues to drive forward.

OQuinn leaves Toushikama with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Toushikama has OQuinn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. OQuinn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looks like Akira Toushikama has been cut.

Toushikama shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with OQuinn but OQuinn pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Toushikama takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
OQuinn goes for a small jab and connects. Now OQuinn goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Toushikama stumbles back but OQuinn runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Toushikama to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Toushikama will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Damien OQuinn!
A pretty intense looking Damien OQuinn took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
