The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders tries to bum rush Carwin with a series of wild strikes but Carwin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Carwin throws a hook to the side of Sanders's head but Sanders sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Carwin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Sanders connects with a good right hand that stumbles Carwin. Carwin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Carwin tries to clinch up but Sanders circles away and keeps his distance.
Sanders throws a series of punches but Carwin moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Carwin.
Josh Sanders is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sanders fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carwin thuds a left hand into Sanders's body.

Carwin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Carwin stands up over Sanders, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sanders wants to stand up but Carwin is controlling him.

Carwin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanders is just riding it out for now. Carwin eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carwin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sanders tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Carwin!
