Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Orwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewart Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orwell's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Nuclear. Hunter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scotland The Brave kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Orwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Stewart Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter swings for the body but Orwell moves out of range.
Hunter stuns Orwell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Orwell gets caught flat footed, as Hunter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Orwell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hunter makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Orwell controls Hunter momentarily but Hunter frees himself.
Hunter lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter is in close to Orwell's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hunter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hunter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Orwell looking for a guillotine here but Hunter defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunter connects with a couple of short punches.

Orwell wriggles free and stands up.
Nice uppercut lands for Hunter. That snapped Orwell's head back.
Orwell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hunter connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Orwell scrambles back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Orwell.
Hunter with the counter takedown but Orwell avoids it easily.
Orwell closes the distance and clinches up with Hunter, looking for a takedown. Orwell pushes Hunter against the cage but Hunter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hunter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hunter wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Owen Orwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Orwell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hunter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Orwell on the side of the head.
Hunter has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Hunter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hunter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hunter wants it to stay on the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Orwell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hunter throws a shot to the body.
Orwell closes the distance and clinches up with Hunter, looking for a takedown. Orwell pushes Hunter against the cage but Hunter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hunter clobbers Orwell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Orwell on the wrong end of a nice jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Orwell on the side of the head.
Hunter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Orwell closes the distance and clinches up with Hunter, looking for a takedown. Orwell pushes Hunter against the cage but Hunter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hunter wants to counter with a clinch but Orwell pushes him away.
Stewart Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Orwell with that takedown attempt.

Hunter has managed to clinch.
Hunter is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Orwell looking for a takedown.
Hunter lands a body punch.
Orwell is breathing heavily.
Hunter lands with a right to the head.
Hunter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Orwell's elbow.
Hunter lands with a left to the head.
Hunter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orwell takes a shot to the head.


Orwell is rocked!

Hunter is trying to trip Orwell. He has hold of a leg but Orwell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hunter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Oh Orwell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunter stands and throws Orwell's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hunter is putting a hurting on Orwell here, landing some big shots from side control.
Orwell is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Orwell taking a bit of punishment here - Hunter scoring with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunter in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Orwell looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Hunter turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stewart Hunter!
Post fight, an emotional Stewart Hunter said 'Looks like this lad that they put me in the cage to maul may be better suited for another line of work! Bring on the next one, because they are all going to fall to The Loch Ness Monster!'.
