The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Contador, right into the meat.

Thompson throws a body punch but Contador moves out of range.

Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown but Contador manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thompson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Contador throws a fast counter high kick but Thompson manages to duck under it in time.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Contador fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thompson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thompson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Thompson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Contador pinned against the cage. Contador gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Contador but Contador pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Thompson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Contador sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thompson somewhat.
Contador circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Thompson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Contador follows Thompson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
