Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Michael!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Michael closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tate's guard.
Tate looking for a sweep. Not yet Tate, not yet.
Michael in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Michael wanted to stand there but Tate had control of the position.
Tate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Michael pushing down on Tate's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Michael has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Michael wants to pass the guard but Tate is defending well.
Michael wants to control but Tate is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Michael lands a nice short elbow.
Michael is looking to take a break and control but Tate is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Michael wants to stand up but Tate manages to regain full guard.
Michael trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Michael working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Michael shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Michael was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Michael trying to control the position but Tate is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Michael has knee on belly momentarily but Tate bucks him off and regains half guard.

Michael is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tate wants to control but Michael is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tate keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Tate pushes Michael off looking to stand but Michael dives back in and keeps control.

Michael seems to be looking for submissions.
Michael is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Michael takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tate wants to control but Michael is having none of it.
Michael thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Michael throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Tate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Michael lands a big elbow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Michael trying to control but Tate is having none of it.
Michael landing strikes from the mount and Tate is in trouble!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Michael dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Michael fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tate sprawls well initially but Michael persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Michael throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Michael thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Michael not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Michael maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Tate could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Michael has cracked it and Tate is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Michael!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Christian Michael!
