And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Queen!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Queen has managed to clinch.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Queen to keep the fight standing.
Queen lands a right hand.
Johnson fails to pull guard.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Queen has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson jumps guard but Queen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Queen walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Queen's waist but Queen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Queen wants to counter with a clinch but Johnson pushes him away.

Queen gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Queen pulls guard successfully.
Johnson trying to control but Queen is working from the bottom.
Queen tries to strike from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Queen keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
Queen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Queen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Queen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Queen manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Queen's guard.
Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Queen's guard.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Queen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.

Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Queen defends the submission attempt.

Johnson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Queen tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Johnson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kevin Johnson!
