The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mateusz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Finlay for as long as he can get away with.
Mateusz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mateusz stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Mateusz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Finlay was covering up waiting for the punch and Mateusz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Finlay wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mateusz manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Finlay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mateusz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Finlay enables Mateusz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Finlay manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mateusz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Finlay looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee asks Mateusz politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mateusz prefers to stall for the moment though.

Mateusz has an Americana. Finlay didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mateusz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mateusz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
