PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Macotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingmar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macotti comes to the cage accompanied by Drown - Theory of a Deadman. Scott has chosen Ace Of Spades as his entrance music. Ingmar Scott will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marco Macotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ingmar Scott!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Macotti.
Scott wants to counter the offense by Macotti and move into the clinch position.
Macotti closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scott circles away.
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Macotti paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scott wants to clinch.
Macotti changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scott tries to avoid it but Macotti manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scott to the ground. Scott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Macotti. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scott looks to land a combination. Macotti sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Scott throws a right and a left that Macotti avoids nicely.
As Scott tries to get set, Macotti tries to push him back and clinch up but Scott manages to avoid the attempt.
Scott fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Macotti is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Scott might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Macotti haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Macotti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scott sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Macotti somewhat.
Scott throws a right and a left that Macotti avoids nicely.
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Macotti swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Scott felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macotti looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scott with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Macotti is nestled in close to Scott, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
