Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler has chosen Ungrateful as his entrance music. Jake Tyler will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Gibbs.

and Gibbs counters with a three punch combo that has Tyler backing up. Tyler nods at Gibbs to acknowledge the strikes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gibbs checks a leg kick.

and Gibbs counters with a series of strikes. Tyler will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tyler misses with a double jab

and Gibbs counters with a shoot takedown. Tyler fights it but they end up in guard.

Gibbs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gibbs throws an elbow that misses. Tyler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gibbs's guard. Nice move by Tyler!

Gibbs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Tyler wants to stand but Gibbs is controlling his posture from full guard.
Tyler wants to stand and escape but instead Gibbs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gibbs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gibbs keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tyler's head.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Tyler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tyler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gibbs was well out of range. Poor timing from Tyler.

Gibbs jumps into guard, dragging Tyler to the mat.
Gibbs has his hands on Tyler's head, controlling the position.
Gibbs has a closed guard, preventing Tyler from standing up.

Gibbs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gibbs is pulling down on Tyler's head. It's preventing any offense from Tyler, at least for the moment.
Tyler wants to get up but he can't break Gibbs's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tyler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gibbs manages to avoid it.

and Gibbs counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyler won't be happy with that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibbs is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tyler has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gibbs is trying to get an arm triangle but Tyler is defending well.
Tyler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gibbs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tyler is breathing heavily.

Gibbs has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Tyler throws a combination. Gibbs tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Gibbs stands up from Tyler's guard - Gibbs perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A right-left combo lands from Gibbs.
Tyler looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Gibbs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tyler blocks the elbow strike.
Gibbs tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tyler smiles and moves away.
Gibbs on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Tyler misses with a lunging right hand

and Gibbs counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyler won't be happy with that.

Gibbs has hold of Tyler's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tyler seems comfortable defending it but Gibbs has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tyler is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tyler is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gibbs couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tony Gibbs!
In defeat, Jake Tyler stepped up to the mic, saying 'I may have lost this fight, but I am still very happy I had the chance to step into the cage and fight. Thank you everyone I had a great time. I will train smarter and be back. I am 100% sure I will win the next fight.'.
