Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Omar Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yahweh Falwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett comes to the cage accompanied by "Get Down" by Nas. Falwell has chosen Don't Stop Believing as his entrance music. Yahweh Falwell will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omar Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yahweh Falwell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Barnett shoots in and gets a takedown into Falwell's guard.
Falwell being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Barnett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Barnett controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnett distracts Falwell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Barnett forces his way into half guard.
Barnett slips a nice elbow through Falwell's hands, connecting with Falwell's forehead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnett lands strikes from half guard.
Barnett is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Barnett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Barnett is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Barnett looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Barnett seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've been hearing good reports from Barnett's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Barnett scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Barnett lands with a punch from half guard.
Barnett is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Falwell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Falwell is in trouble now - Barnett has advanced to mount!
Barnett in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Barnett is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Falwell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Barnett lands a heavy elbow.


Falwell is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barnett softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Falwell is out cold! Barnett jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Omar Barnett!
An out of breath Omar Barnett thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Yahweh Falwell was interviewed post fight and said 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.
