PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Imzda Noob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Perkovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perkovic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Perkovic wants the takedown. Noob is fighting it off but Perkovic persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Noob's guard against the cage.

Perkovic drops back looking for a leg! Noob is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Noob manages to kick Perkovic off! Perkovic jumps back into Noob's guard.

Perkovic has gone for a leg lock! Noob slips out almost immediately though and dives into Perkovic's guard.

Noob is standing up over Perkovic. Perkovic looks to escape but Noob dives into side control.
Perkovic is looking for a sweep.
Noob in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perkovic tries to bench press Noob off him but Noob keeps the position.
Perkovic is letting Noob control him for a moment.
Noob has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Noob continues to stall.

Perkovic tries to buck Noob off but Noob is having none of it.
The referee asks Noob politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Noob prefers to stall for the moment though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mikhail Perkovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perkovic shoots in looking for a takedown but Noob manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Perkovic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It looked like Noob was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Imzda Noob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikhail Perkovic.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee is keeping an eye on Noob - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Perkovic turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Perkovic manages to end up in side control.

Noob stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perkovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Perkovic tries to score a power double leg takedown but Noob sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perkovic somewhat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Noob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Noob fires out a quick counter leg kick but Perkovic just manages to avoid it.

Perkovic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Noob's corner calls for a 1-2. Noob obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Perkovic displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Noob throws out the jab.

Noob was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Perkovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Noob's waist but Noob gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perkovic off to one side.
