Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lopez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Party up in here - DMX. chuck Norris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, chuck Norris!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris shoots in for a double leg but Lopez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lopez has his takedown stuffed
and Norris counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lopez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Norris is taking a breather. Lopez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Norris wants to take a breather but Lopez is having none of it.
Norris wants to pass to mount but Lopez is defending the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lopez swats away the attempt to clinch by Norris.

and Lopez counters with a solid body kick.
Norris has a takedown stuffed.
Norris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rufus Lopez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of chuck Norris.

and Norris counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lopez!

Norris throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Lopez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Lopez wants to control but Norris is having none of it.
Norris swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lopez is now in Norris's guard. A big mistake from Norris there, giving up the dominant position!
Norris wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lopez stands and steps away. Norris gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lopez but Lopez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lopez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Norris to the mat! Norris manages to get full guard.
Lopez tries to stand but Norris is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lopez wants to get up but he can't break Norris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Norris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Lopez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Norris is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Norris shoots for a takedown but Lopez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
