Kure comes to the cage accompanied by BIG SHUG - who's hard. Puna Wai has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Krejzi Kure's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krejzi Kure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Puna Wai!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kure lands a jab.
Wai falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Kure counter with a right hand.
Wai fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
An attempted straight right counter from Kure misses the target.
Kure has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Nordic Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
Kure getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Kure fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wai misses with a kick to the body.
Wai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wai scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Krejzi Kure has been cut.
Wai fails with the takedown.
Wai closes the distance and clinches up with Kure, looking for a takedown. Wai pushes Kure against the cage but Kure circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Krejzi Kure has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Puna Wai.
Kure scores with a hook to the body. Wai takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kure will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kure scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Wai has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wai there as he acknowledges the shot.


Wai is rocked!
Wai shoots in for a takedown but Kure shows good takedown defense.
It looked like Kure was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Wai is still on wobbly legs! Can Kure finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wai on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kure throws an overhand right that drops Wai like a sack of potatoes! Kure dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Krejzi Kure!
A very excited looking Krejzi Kure made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
