PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rama Udo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuke Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nuke Tanaka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rama Udo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nuke Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Udo cracks a nice hook into Tanaka's ribs.
Udo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tanaka looks winded!
Tanaka shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Udo counters with a left and a right that stings Tanaka.
We've been told by Udo's head coaches at Team Butcher Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Udo throws a nice outside leg kick.
That kick from Udo tenderised Tanaka's leg. Tanaka is trying to keep his angry face on.
Udo cracks Tanaka with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Udo lunges at Tanaka with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tanaka's hand.
Udo scores with a hook to the body. Tanaka takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tanaka tries to clinch
and Udo counters with a three punch combo that has Tanaka backing up. Tanaka nods at Udo to acknowledge the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Udo lands a left and a right that sends Tanaka crashing to the canvas! Udo dives into mount looking to finish!

Udo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Tanaka badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Udo around the waist but Udo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Udo is the winner by TKO! Udo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
