Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock comes to the cage accompanied by Venom's Theme. Mamba comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here Comes The Hotstepper kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Eddie Brock has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Mamba!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Brock.
Brock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mamba takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mamba on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A big left from Brock misses.
Mamba closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brock circles away.
Eddie Brock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mamba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brock's waist but Brock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mamba off to one side.
Brock is looking to counter the offense by Mamba and move into the clinch.
Brock connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brock stuffs the takedown attempt from Mamba. Mamba gets slowly back to his feet.

Mamba with the counter takedown but Brock avoids it easily.
Brock connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mamba. Mamba circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Mamba shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brock defends it nicely.
It looked like Brock wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Mamba changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mamba moves out of range as Brock strikes.
A clash of legs there as Mamba blocks the low kick.
Brock rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Mamba counters with a shoot takedown. Brock fights it but they end up in guard.

Mamba has gone for a leg lock! Brock slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mamba's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brock lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Mamba avoids the body shot from Brock.
Mamba has a takedown stuffed.
Brock was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Mamba takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mamba closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Brock buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mamba with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brock to score with a decent uppercut.

Mamba takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mamba shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brock as he avoids it easily.
Brock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mamba was well out of range. Poor timing from Brock.

Mamba uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brock.
Brock leaves Mamba with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brock connects with a leg kick. Mamba looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

so Mamba counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Brock wants to get back to his feet but Mamba passes into half guard.
Mamba wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brock keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mamba is looking to stall here but Brock recovers full guard.

Mamba with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bobby Mamba has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mamba trying to control the position from guard on top but Brock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brock throws a shot from downtown. Mamba moves away and avoids it.
Mamba changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mamba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brock sprawls well. Brock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mamba gets slowly back to his feet.
Eddie Brock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Mamba.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A slapping leg kick lands for Brock.
It looks like Brock has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Mamba tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brock sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mamba somewhat.
Eddie Brock is winning the standup battle so far.

Brock lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Brock misses the shot to the body.
Brock throws a looping overhand right but Mamba ducks down to avoid it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A head kick misses from Brock.
Mamba steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Brock.
Mamba needs to keep his hands up - Brock had a free shot at his head there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Brock dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Mamba decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brock's guard.
Mamba forces his way into half guard.
Brock tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Mamba manages to move to mount!
Brock is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Mamba has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Poor strikes thrown by Mamba there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Mamba takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mamba is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brock has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brock!

Mamba is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brock defends well.
Brock wants to get up but he can't break Mamba's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Eddie Brock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mamba working for a triangle but Brock defends it easily.
Brock wants to stand and escape but instead Mamba has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brock is looking to stand up but Mamba isn't so interested in that idea.
Mamba throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brock works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mamba's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Mamba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brock has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
