Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeramy Rich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galliard Fianna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galliard Fianna has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Galliard Fianna!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fianna throws a leg kick
and Rich counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fianna looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rich!
Fianna prevents Rich from escaping the position.
A lull in the action here as Fianna stalls from top position.
Fianna throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fianna thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rich is looking to reverse the position.

Fianna is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rich is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fianna is pressing down on Rich's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rich is holding on for now.
Rich is looking for a sweep. Fianna is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fianna wants to control but Rich is keeping him busy.
Fianna takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rich wants to improve his position but Fianna is controlling well.
Fianna is trying to control. Rich wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Fianna clinches up against the cage.

Rich jumps into guard, dragging Fianna to the mat.
Rich tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fianna is stalling in the full guard.
Rich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fianna seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rich isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fianna stacks Rich on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fianna!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rich manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Fianna is defending against the submission attempts here by Rich.

A close round but Galliard Fianna will probably get the nod.

Fianna turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Fianna manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rich is looking to improve his position but Fianna isn't that keen on the idea.

Fianna shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rich's guard.

Galliard Fianna showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rich has his foot on Fianna's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fianna works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fianna has hold of Rich's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rich manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well Fianna has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
