Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Bloggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Bloggs!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunder misses with a wild combination.
Bloggs keeps the fight on the outside.
Bloggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Bloggs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thunder as he jumps to the side.
Bloggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bloggs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Bloggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Thunder has eaten all the pies!
Bloggs keeps control of Thunder as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bloggs fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bloggs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Thunder just stands there and leans against the cage.
Thunder cracks Bloggs with a nice body shot.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bloggs as Thunder tries to tie him up.
Thunder lands an elbow that stopped Bloggs in his tracks for a moment.
Knees in the clinch landing for Bloggs.

Thunder lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bloggs backwards.
Thunder scores with a shot to the side of Bloggs's head.
A bit of stalling here from Bloggs.
Bloggs managing to block the knees to the body from Thunder.
Thunder lands an elbow inside.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Thunder.
Thunder is trying to break free.
Bloggs's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Bloggs misses with the head strike.
Thunder wants to stall.
Thunder lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Thunder tries to land a knee to the head but Bloggs blocks with his arms.

Bloggs breaks from the clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Thunder, as that shot connected.
Thunder misses with a few strikes there.

so Bloggs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bloggs trying to control the position from guard on top but Thunder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bloggs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thunder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thunder is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bloggs is trying to keep Thunder in close.

Thunder is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thunder wants to clinch but Bloggs slips to the side

and Bloggs counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bloggs is looking to advance position but Thunder won't allow it.

Bloggs is working for a submission of some sort.
Bloggs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Thunder defending well though.

Bloggs has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Thunder shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bloggs as he avoids it easily.

and Bloggs counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bloggs.
Thunder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bloggs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bloggs wants to pass the guard but Thunder is keeping the position.
Thunder is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bloggs dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thunder is trying to improve his position.
Bloggs misses with the ground and pound.
Bloggs creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Thunder sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bloggs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thunder sprawls well initially but Bloggs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bloggs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bloggs wants to pass to mount but Thunder is defending the position.

Bloggs is working hard here to advance position.
Thunder trying to control but Bloggs postures up.
Thunder tries to kick Bloggs off but Bloggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bloggs frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Thunder tries to get back to half guard but can't.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bloggs here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Thunder wants to hold on but Bloggs pushes him away.
Thunder is trying to stand up.

Bloggs looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Bloggs looking to ground and pound but Thunder is blocking nicely.
Bloggs throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Thunder is working to get back to half guard.

Bloggs jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Thunder is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Thunder and Bloggs has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Bloggs in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bloggs has knee on belly momentarily but Thunder bucks him off and regains half guard.
Bloggs looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Bloggs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bloggs trying to mount his opponent but Thunder defends it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Bloggs will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Thunder tries to clinch

and Bloggs counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Thunder's guard now.

Thunder looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bloggs is one step ahead there.
Thunder is looking to stand up but Bloggs isn't so interested in that idea.

Thunder keeping full guard, as Bloggs tries to pass.

Bloggs decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Thunder, up you get!

Bloggs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thunder pinned against the cage. Thunder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Thunder has Bloggs pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bloggs manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bloggs jumps into guard, dragging Thunder to the mat.
Thunder wants to control from the top but Bloggs keeps moving.
Bloggs is trying to keep Thunder in close.

Bloggs keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Thunder trying to control but Bloggs is working from the bottom.

Bloggs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thunder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thunder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bloggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bloggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Thunder wants to get back to his feet.

Bloggs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thunder is just riding it out for now. Bloggs eventually gives up the hold.

Thunder wants to get up but he can't break Bloggs's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bloggs had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thunder is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bloggs Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thunder's back instead.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Thunder turns into Bloggs and is now in his guard.

Bloggs trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Bloggs is trying to keep Thunder in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thunder lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bloggs backs up against the cage.
Bloggs shoots for a takedown but Thunder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Thunder clinches but Bloggs breaks the clinch

and Bloggs counters with a takedown into side control.
Bloggs wants to stand but Thunder is controlling his arm.

Bloggs tries to stand but Thunder controls the position and pulls Bloggs into his guard.

Bloggs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thunder dives on top into guard.
Bloggs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thunder is one step ahead there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bloggs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thunder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thunder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bloggs looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Thunder wants to take a breather but Bloggs is having none of it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Bloggs turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bloggs manages to end up in side control.

Bloggs working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Bloggs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thunder is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Thunder is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bloggs laying and praying for a moment but Thunder takes advantage and regains half guard.

Bloggs wants to control but Thunder is keeping him busy.
Thunder wants to get back to his feet.

Thunder tries to kick Bloggs off but Bloggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Bloggs counters with a takedown into side control.

Bloggs is working to tighten is grip on Thunder's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Thunder has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bloggs is really squeezing tight and eventually Thunder passes out! Bloggs breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
