Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Peerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peerson has chosen Good Feeling as his entrance music. Tommy Wilson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Peerson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peerson misses with the combination.
Peerson misses the jab.

Peerson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wilson to the mat! Wilson manages to get full guard.
Wilson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wilson tries to get out of the position.
Wilson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Peerson stopping the sweep attempt from Wilson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson keeping moving, preventing Peerson from controlling successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Peerson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Peerson wants to stand but Wilson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Peerson wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.

Peerson is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Peerson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wilson counters with a straight right hand.
Some bone on bone action there as Wilson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Peerson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wilson counters with a stiff right hand.
Peerson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wilson.
Peerson misses with a few strikes there.
Wilson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peerson was well out of range. Poor timing from Wilson.
Wilson digs a good hook to Peerson's body.
Nice takedown defense from Peerson. No joy for Wilson on that attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Peerson avoids it really well and circles away.
Peerson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Peerson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Peerson looks to land a left hand but Wilson moved out of range nicely.
Wilson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Peerson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Some wild striking there from Peerson.
Peerson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wilson back to the cage. Peerson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Peerson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wilson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Peerson scrambles back to his feet.

Peerson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wilson has Peerson pulled in close to control his posture.
Wilson has a closed guard, preventing Peerson from standing up.
Peerson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Peerson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wilson wants to sweep but no luck.
Wilson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Peerson throwing strikes but missing.
Peerson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Wilson is adopting a defensive guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Peerson wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ross Peerson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Peerson does no damage.
A nice combination there by Peerson.

Peerson rushes Wilson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Peerson can't break the clinch.
Wilson has Peerson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peerson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wilson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Wilson digs a right hand into Peerson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Peerson's gas tank.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ross Peerson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wilson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peerson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wilson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Peerson fails to land with a series of punches.
Peerson throws a nice looking combination but Wilson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Peerson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wilson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Peerson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Wilson is looking to reverse the position.
Peerson wants to stand but Wilson is controlling his arm.
Peerson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson is looking to reverse the position.
Peerson misses with the ground and pound.
Wilson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Peerson's best efforts.
Peerson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.
Peerson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wilson controls his leg.
Wilson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Wilson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Peerson trying to mount his opponent but Wilson defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peerson tries to stand and escape but Wilson is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wilson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Peerson's head.
No joy there for Peerson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Peerson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wilson counters with a right hand to the body.
A punch combination from Peerson misses.
Peerson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Peerson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wilson moves away.
Wilson lands with a big left! Peerson is wobbled badly! Wilson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Peerson to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tommy Wilson!
