The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono throws a shot to the body.
Ono tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ono chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Williams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Ono throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ono.

and Williams counters with a crisp one two that drops Ono! Williams thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ono to his feet! Ono is in big trouble!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Williams has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Its Ono will probably get the nod.

Williams was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Williams on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Its Ono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Ono's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Williams before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
