PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Tromaras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Brown has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Tromaras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Brown!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tromaras throws a head kick that misses.
Brown darts in looking for a takedown but Tromaras gets double underhooks and turns Brown into the ropes.
We've been told by Tromaras's head coaches at Cozad Amsterdam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Aaron Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tromaras tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tromaras to the ground. Tromaras escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tromaras fails to land the takedown.
Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tromaras defends well and Brown ends up having to push Tromaras into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
As Brown looks to move away, Tromaras throws a big counter combo bu Brown just gets out of the way.
George Tromaras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Brown.
Tromaras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tromaras off to one side.
Brown is looking for the big counter here.
Tromaras shoots in but no luck this time.
Tromaras is breathing heavily.

Brown fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tromaras to the ground. Brown is now in Tromaras's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown wants to control but Tromaras is keeping busy.
Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tromaras really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brown tries for a takedown but Tromaras sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tromaras as he jumps to the side.

Brown dives in and grabs Tromaras's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tromaras pushes down on Brown's head and hops out.
Tromaras fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brown avoids it really well and circles away.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but Tromaras shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Brown shoots for a takedown but Tromaras saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Brown darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Brown not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Brown not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Brown stops Tromaras from getting back to his feet.

Brown is trying to work for a kimura but Tromaras is defending well.
Brown throws a strike but Tromaras avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tromaras looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Aaron Brown will probably get the nod.

Tromaras slaps away a takedown attempt from Brown, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Brown defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tromaras.
Brown will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tromaras jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tromaras.

Brown feints and as Tromaras raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tromaras is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brown defends well.
Brown wants to control from the top but Tromaras keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Tromaras has wrist control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tromaras pulls Brown in close to prevent any damage.
Tromaras trying to keep a closed guard but Brown is proving a slippery customer.
Brown must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Brown wants to control from the top but Tromaras keeps moving.

Tromaras working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brown manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tromaras stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
George Tromaras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Brown.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
Brown dives in for a single leg takedown but Tromaras sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Tromaras throws a counter high kick but Brown was just alert enough to avoid it.
Brown shoots in but Tromaras avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tromaras was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Brown closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tromaras did well to prevent Brown getting side control.

Brown stands up out of the half guard.

Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tromaras sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tromaras knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tromaras keeps working.
Brown prevents Tromaras from improving his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Brown is keen to just control but Tromaras is a slippery customer.
Aaron Brown has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brown wants to stand up but Tromaras has a hold of him and won't allow it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brown working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Tromaras is trying to control but can't.

Tromaras is defending against the submission attempts here by Brown.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tromaras is looking to control Brown's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tromaras avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tromaras throws a leg kick but Brown sees it coming and checks it nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tromaras leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Tromaras jumps guard but Brown stands there with Tromaras around his waist. Tromaras gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Brown has control of Tromaras's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tromaras regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tromaras is squirming around, avoiding Brown's attempts to control the action.

Brown avoids the attempt from Tromaras to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brown is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
George Tromaras has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aaron Brown is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I've got Brown winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
