Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Chow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Havel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Chow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Havel!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chow moves into range and clinches up with Havel.
Havel looking for a takedown.
Havel wants to take the fight to the mat but Chow manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Havel is working for takedown but Chow is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lee Chow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Havel.
Havel is trying to drag Chow to the mat but Chow just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Chow gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Havel.

Havel tries to score a body lock takedown but Chow shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Havel wants to pass the guard but Chow is defending well.

Havel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chow defends it well.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Chow has control of Havel's left arm, preventing Havel from doing any damage.

Chow's jab looks to have found its range, popping Havel under the eye.

Chow closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Chow is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Havel drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chow pulls his leg out and moves away.
Havel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've been told by Chow's head coaches at Cozad Amsterdam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Chow scores with a couple of short elbows.
Havel struggling a bit here.
A lull in the action here as Chow stalls from top position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Havel is looking for a sweep.

Havel seems a little lost for a moment, as Chow dominates the positioning.
Havel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Havel wants to control but Chow postures up.
We've been informed that Havel has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Havel is trying to get back to half guard.
Chow knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Havel on the ground.
Chow lands some shots froms side control.
Havel takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Havel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chow swivels and escapes.
Havel shoots in but Chow avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Chow content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Havel throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Havel is trying to control Chow's posture but Chow avoids it.
Havel stops Chow from passing to mount.
Chow lands a decent elbow from side control.
Chow cracks Havel with a big right hand but Havel just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Chow wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Havel, who protects the arm well.
Havel wants to control but Chow postures up.

Havel is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chow connects with a decent elbow.
Havel prevents Chow from moving into mount.
Chow in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Chow landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Havel tries to improve position but can't.
Havel taking punishment in the form of punches.
Havel is looking to reverse the position.
Havel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Chow off and has taken his back!
Chow biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape.

Havel is persistently looking for the submission but Chow is defending it well.

Chow is trying to stand back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Chow tries to escape but Havel has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Chow breaks Havel's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Chow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Chow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Havel can do to turn this around?

Chow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Havel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Chow feints and as Havel raises his hands in defense, Chow changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Havel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Havel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chow defends it easily.
Chow slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Chow is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Havel has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Chow is looking to defend but Havel has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Chow! Havel pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Chow taps out and this one is all over!
