PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Worf Roshenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roshenko's entrance music is QoNos Death Swell. A fine choice. Silva has chosen Roots Bloody Roots - Sepultura as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Worf Roshenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roshenko lands a nice hook to Silva's body. Silva takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Roshenko pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Silva back to the ropes. Roshenko follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Roshenko clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the ropes.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roshenko walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Roshenko moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Roshenko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Silva felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Roshenko.
Roshenko cracks Silva with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Silva is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Roshenko tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Roshenko looks up at the clock and then as Silva takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Roshenko smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Roshenko misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Roshenko stands up.

Roshenko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Roshenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Roshenko looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Silva tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Roshenko decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Roshenko tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Roshenko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roshenko looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Roshenko drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silva has momentary wrist control but Roshenko slips an elbow through the middle.
Roshenko stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Silva is rocked!

Roshenko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Roshenko loads up on a big left hand. Silva felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Roshenko looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Silva can't hide his disappointment, as Roshenko celebrates the victory.
