Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelson Kawai!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawai throws a big shot that misses.
Murphy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Murphy checks a leg kick.
A shot to the body from Kawai misses
and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand.
Murphy lands the left hand.
We've been hearing reports that Murphy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Murphy scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.


Kawai is rocked!
Murphy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kawai is still on wobbly legs! Can Murphy finish him?
Kawai lands with a kick to the temple. Murphy shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Murphy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Kawai now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Murphy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kawai wants to counter the offense by Murphy and move into the clinch position.
Kawai misses with a head kick.
Murphy ducks under a wild hook from Kawai.
Kawai misses with an uppercut.
Murphy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kawai looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Kawai throws a body kick that misses.
Kawai connects with a high kick.
Murphy is looking to wear down Kawai with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Murphy slips a straight right by Kawai.
Murphy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kawai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Murphy avoids the body shot from Kawai.
Murphy throws a big counter combination but Kawai scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kawai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Murphy moves away.
Murphy lands with a good body shot.
Murphy steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kawai. That one must have hurt.
Kawai throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kawai misses with a hook to the body
and Murphy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kawai throws a right hand that misses
and Murphy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kawai uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murphy.
Kawai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kawai looks to throw a body kick
and Murphy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Murphy gets in close and tags Kawai with a short punch that almost sends Kawai to the mat! Oh Kawai is in big trouble! He turns his back on Murphy, trying to create some distance but Murphy rushes him, striking wildly and Kawai goes down! The referee tackles Murphy into the cage to end the fight! Murphy is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Murphy!
A very excited looking Eric Murphy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
