Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Del Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smash Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smash Stratton will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Del Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Smash Stratton!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stratton drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stratton looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Rose is pulling down on Stratton's head. It's preventing any offense from Stratton, at least for the moment.
Stratton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rose continues to stall.

Rose pushes Stratton off and scrambles back to his feet.
Smash Stratton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Stratton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stratton throws a combination that misses

and Rose moves into the clinch.
Stratton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rose ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rose no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rose is pulling down on Stratton's head. It's preventing any offense from Stratton, at least for the moment.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Rose is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Stratton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rose is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Stratton presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Rose pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Stratton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rose tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stratton is in Rose's guard.
Rose seems keen to control Stratton's posture.
Rose could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rose kicks Stratton off and gets to his feet.
Stratton keeps the fight on the outside.

Stratton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rose wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rose pulls Stratton in close to his closed guard and prevents Stratton from doing any damage or advancing position.

Rose manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Rose gets the takedown into side control.
Stratton struggling a bit here.
Rose content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Stratton is looking to regain half guard here but Rose keeps moving and retains side control.

Rose is trying to get an arm triangle but Stratton is defending well.

Rose remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Stratton is pushing Rose's head away, looking to escape. Rose manages to hold on to the position though.
Stratton is trying to control Rose's posture but Rose avoids it.
Rose is staying tight to Stratton's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Stratton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rose is trying to defend but Stratton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rose manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Rose is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stratton can do to turn this around?
Rose bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stratton's guard.

Rose is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stratton is just riding it out for now. Rose eventually gives up the hold.

Rose decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Rose feints and as Stratton raises his hands in defense, Rose changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stratton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rose was covering up waiting for the punch and Stratton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's time! Rose's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Rose closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rose decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Stratton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stratton lands in his opponent's guard.

Rose manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stratton manages to get himself to full guard.

Stratton wants to stand but Rose is controlling the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Stratton shoots in and bounces Rose off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smash Stratton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Del Rose is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Stratton postures up in Rose's guard and throws a big left but Rose blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Del Rose showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rose has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
