Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sin Cara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sin Cara looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Trujillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sin Cara!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cara with a lazy takedown attempt

and Trujillo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Trujillo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Trujillo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Cara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trujillo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trujillo passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Trujillo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cara, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cara seems a little lost for a moment, as Trujillo dominates the positioning.

Trujillo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cara has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cara tries to bench press Trujillo off him but Trujillo keeps the position.

Trujillo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trujillo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Trujillo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cara has escaped the position, nice work there.
Trujillo is staying tight to Cara's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Trujillo is looking to take a break and control but Cara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Trujillo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cara will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Trujillo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cara has escaped the position, nice work there.
Trujillo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cara keeps working.
Trujillo happy to just control the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trujillo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trujillo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cara looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Cara is not content to let Trujillo control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cara wants to control but Trujillo postures up.
Trujillo happy to just control the position for now.

Trujillo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Trujillo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Trujillo avoids the head kick by Cara.
Trujillo tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Cara manages to circle out of the way.
Trujillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cara can do to turn this around?

Cara rushes Trujillo and presses him up against the cage.
Trujillo tries to score a body lock takedown but Cara shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cara is trying to pull guard but Trujillo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cara prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Trujillo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trujillo is trying to pull guard but Cara turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cara drops down looking for an ankle pick but Trujillo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sin Cara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cara looks to land a body kick but Trujillo moved away.

Cara gets a clinch.
Cara prevents the takedown attempt.
Cara has had enough of the clinch but Trujillo keeps him there for the moment.
Cara jumps guard but Trujillo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cara is breathing heavily.
Trujillo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cara is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Trujillo wants the takedown. Cara is fighting it off but Trujillo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cara's guard against the cage.

Trujillo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Trujillo wants to control from the top but Cara keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Trujillo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cara clinches.

Trujillo has Cara pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Trujillo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cara tumbling to the mat - Trujillo dives into Cara's guard.

Trujillo drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Trujillo seems to have locked his on tight now - Cara screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Trujillo, as he picks up the win!
