Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Psycho Chris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Mendeez!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chris fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mendeez on the side of the head.
Chris loads up on a big right hand but Mendeez slips the punch.
Mendeez slips under a jab.
Mendeez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mendeez scores with a jab to the body.

Mendeez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chris is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chris tries to clinch there but Mendeez circles away.
Mendeez fails with a takedown attempt.
Mendeez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chris but Chris pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Psycho Chris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Mendeez.

Chris forces Mendeez back against the cage and clinches.

Mendeez tries to pull guard but Chris holds him up against the cage and eventually Mendeez drops back down to his feet.

The referee is keeping an eye on Chris - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Chris lands a left hand.
Chris throws a big uppercut that drops Mendeez! More strikes from Chris and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mendeez lies dazed against the cage as Chris celebrates with his cornermen!
